Vietnam Military History Museum
Built on a campus of up to 386,600 m2, the Vietnam Military History Museum, located in the Tu Liem district of Hanoi, opened at the beginning of November 2024 and has become a new destination in the capital.
The museum currently owns 150,000 artifacts, mainly military topics, including four national treasures:
- Two MiG-21 fighter aircraft have serial numbers 5121 and 4324.
- The T-54B tank has serial number 843.
- The Map of Determination to Fight in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
To me, the museum is impressive with the following 3 points:
The 45-storey victory tower is in the middle of the yard in front of the museum building. With a simple design and horizontal lines, it stands tall and shows majesty and bravery, like the army's outstanding characteristics.
The second point is the museum's central building. It has a modern design and simple vertical and inclined lines but exudes a friendly beauty. Right in front are the steps interspersed with green grass beds, creating an excellent highlight for souvenir photos.
Of course, the diverse antiques and military equipment are the third element that impresses with their quantity and variety. The outdoor space is decorated with many types of tanks and fighter planes, along with thousands of specimens in the airy interior space, to help people learn about the resistance war to protect the country in Vietnam.
The museum is open for visiting from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but closes at lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
